Your Visit

What time do the gates open?

The start time of the action in the International Arena differs daily, but the gates are open from 8am every day for the general public.

What is the difference between a Member's Enclosure & General Admission ticket?

A General Admission ticket grants the bearer access to the general showground, and all of its facilities, as well as both of our public grandstands. A Member's Enclosure ticket grants the bearer access to not only the general showground and grandstands, but also to the Member's Enclosure. The Member's Enclosure boasts a grandstand with the best views on the showground, as well as our Member's Restaurant, Member's Lawn and the Pommery Bar and viewing deck. Daily Member's Enclosure tickets are available, and upgrades can be purchased on the showground on the day of your visit.

Are picnics allowed on the showground?

Yes picnics are absolutely allowed on the showground, although don't forget that we have a host of restaurants, bars and yummy catering concessions to choose from too.

Are dogs allowed on the showground?

We are very dog friendly, but dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, largely for their own safety. We respectfully ask you to help us keep our showground clean, and clean up after your dog. It is forbidden to leave dogs in cars, and if we see any dogs in distress we will take action.

Is there WiFi?

We are delighted that O2 will be providing a temporary mast facility to increase the network coverage to our rural showground!

Do you have a list of recommended accommodation?

Yes, please visit our Hotel & B&B listings page, or contact our Accommodation Agent's information page (both in the General Information section of the website).

Where is the nearest train station?

The nearest train stations to Hickstead are Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath. For full directions and timetabling information please visit our How To Find Us page (in the General Information section of the website).

Is there a taxi drop-off point on the showground?

Yes. Taxis can drop passengers directly on to the showground, and will be directed to the relevant area on an event specific basis. Please ensure your admission badges are clearly visible for inspection upon arrival. Where possible, taxis will be given fast-track access to the showground to minimise queuing.

The Members' Enclosure & Private Hospitality

What is the dress code within the Members' Restaurant and Private Viewing Boxes?

Smart-casual, although on Ladies' Day, the Saturday of the Longines RIHS, the stakes are upped and there are prizes galore for the Best Dressed Filly, and the colt with the most sartorial flare!

Do I need to be a member to eat in the Members' Restaurant?

Yes - daily Members' Enclosure tickets are available and can be bought both online and on-site. General Admission tickets can also be upgraged, although our Members' Enclosure does sell out on our busiest days.
